Our task:
For this project we have to build a small bridge with a limited amount of supplies such as craft sticks, paper clips, tape, card stock and other papers.
we are planned to build a truss bridge! here's are idea!
how are bridge might fail
-what part of your bridge is the "weakest link"?
The middle bottom area
-how can you make it stronger?
criss-cross the Popsicle sticks
-predict. if your bridge was to sit our for 2 months, what would be some factors that affect the integrity of the structure?
people and wind, maybe cars
-what are some internal or external forces?
People walking on it and the sides pushing on the bottom.
-how can you make use of the stress in your design (buckling. twisting or shearing)?
cross the Popsicle sticks to make them more sturdy.
RESULTS...
-Was your bridge successful?
yes! our bridge was able to hold 12.5 pounds and 3000 grams.
-If you were to build your bridge again, what would you differently?
We would save money for more tape!
-What surprised you about your bridge?
That the actual bridge didn't break it was the tape that held it too the table that gave out and caused our bridge to fall.
-What did you learn through this project?
I learned about the different types of bridges like Truss, suspension etc.

This is my groups bridge holding up a brick!
(My group ended up majorly changing up the design during the building process)
